Transportation Management Association

“I think Frisco should begin the process of developing a Transportation Management Association (TMA) for our city. This type of partnership between public sector and private business provides on-demand transportation services around commercial districts, and will be attractive as an amenity for current and prospective job centers.”

A TMA can be seen regularly in action at the Granite Park / Shops at Legacy area. It’s called the GPASS, the “Granite Park Area Shuttle Service.” Funding for the GPASS is supported by the businesses in the area, who want to make sure their employees can get around on their lunch hours and breaks, to run errands, go to restaurants, go to appointments.

After the success of the GPASS, City of Plano is now working with the businesses at Legacy West to get one started there. Frisco has both the commercial employers and the retail districts to begin the process of implementing a TMA.

There may even be an opportunity to identify a TMA partnership with the hospital systems that are now establishing facilities in our area. Jason’s extensive relationships with doctors and hospitals would be a benefit to this potential project.
